What to Wear for Your Boudoir Photo Shoot

Before delving into what to wear for your boudoir shoot, consider these questions:

What makes me feel sexy?

Does comfort matter? And how much?

What persona would you like to emulate?

Lots of boudoir photography wardrobe includes lace, lingerie, undies, strappy garments, maybe some leather or kinky accessories. That’s not all boudoir is about.

We do encourage some clients to get out of their comfort zone to see if we can spark a new light. We will try a couple of shots in an outfit someone really wants to try, just simply has not had the encouragement to feel sexy in. The photographer takes time to show you how shots are turning out and many clients end up saying something like,

“Holy crap, I look HAWT!”

Having said that, we do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable throughout the process. Some clients’ body language is clear. They do not like the tiny matching sets and come alive with a comfy sweater and some knee-high socks. What a HOTTIE!

Lots of components can brought into the studio. Aprons, overalls, pasties, grunge, punk, wigs, jewelry, costumes, glasses, robes, briefs, feathers, sheets, a fave t-shirt, the list goes on. It’s about being yourself and seeing your sexiness reflected in the shots.

When you initially book your appointment, we send you a handy prep guide that tackles all of your major questions, as well as provide suggestions on where you can buy some amazing lingerie at all price points, and suggestions to help you pick a few outfits you want to use during the boudoir shoot. You are more than welcome to reach out to Kasey, the photographer, and ask for tips. Most people bring 2-4 outfits and we choose what would work best day of.

Lastly, Infinite Boudoir has a small client closet you can choose from. Most outfits are feminine and geared towards female-presenting people. There are also props and leather that can be utilized. What is most important is being honest about exactly what you want to wear during your boudoir shoot and what you are willing to try. You WILL NOT hurt anyone’s feelings if you do not like the team’s recommendations. This day is about you! Let us know what you want to wear, how you want to look, and we will all work together to get it done.
